About the Project

Bottom Line Construction and Development LLC (BLCD) is a woman- and minority-owned company based in New York City providing real estate development, construction management, and affordable housing consulting. BLCD has been in operation for over 12 years and possesses a strong track record across public infrastructure projects, government structures and spaces, commercial real estate, and affordable housing developments. BLCD also runs Youth Construct, a non-profit organization that offers vocational training in architecture, construction, engineering, and development for NYC high school students from underserved communities.

About the Sponsor

Founder and CEO, Alexis McSween, developed her passion of supporting affordable housing space through her own experience as a housing-challenged teenager in NYC. Named 2020 Female Entrepreneur of the Year by the New York Small Business Development Center, and one of the few BIPOC developers in the NYC area, McSween has a mission to hire local talent and cultivate inclusive communities.

Deal Overview

The JPMC-LISC Diverse Supplier Grant Initiative provided a $200,000 recoverable grant to Bottom Line to assist the company with funding costs associated with large contracts. In early 2022, BLCD won contracts with two schools for park landscaping and restoration and used the growth capital investment to cover the bonding and funds control expenses and help cover insurance costs to carry out the two projects.

The investment pools sponsored by LISC are available only to eligible investors, are offered only pursuant to their official offering documents, and are managed by LISC Fund Management, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of LISC.  LISC Fund Management is an investment adviser registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”).  Registration of an investment adviser with the SEC does not imply any level of skill or training.
