In many of the underinvested communities across the US, there are leaders and landowners that understand the history of their communities and want to see a different future for their people. Figuring out how to get there has been difficult, and for communities in the path of development, the only way to get there is by working together.
We can help communities pool their resources, map community needs, and developer a strategy that leads to generational wealth development.
BUILDING COMMUNITY DEVELOPER CAPACITY
Creating innovative community development financial products is often not enough to accomplish impact if there is not a healthy collection of community development focused developers in a given geography.
We can combine expert training and balance sheet or growth capital to smaller developers to create that ecosystem and prepare those developers to be the change agents in their communities.
Our presence in communities across the country and our long dated history of providing both tax credit, debt, and now equity financing in these communities means we have one of the largest origination teams in the country.

We want to ultimately build capacity at the city level to promote positive outcomes in underinvested communities. We need to work closely with the city government to effectuate the changes we need to make to the systems that have created inequity.
We can assist local and regional economic development strategies that include land banking concepts, fund creation, developer capacity building, and neighborhood revitalization and redevelopment strategies.
Rockefeller Opportunity Zone Initiative
In partnership with Rockefeller, LISc works with six cities and community leaders across the US to build pipelines of responsible development projects and business investments that attract private capital to Opportunity Zones.
