Okomboli Ong'ong'a is the Senior Director of Fund Design and Modeling at LISC Strategic Investments, overseeing the designing of impactful real estate and business investment funds.

Okomboli is an investment manager with more than 16 years of experience in principal investing. He started his career as a management consultant with PwC and thereafter transitioned to business intelligence and data analytics at John Hancock Financial Services, Inc. (now part of Manulife, Inc.). After business school, Okomboli joined Praxair, Inc. (now part of Linde PLC) where he structured and integrated several acquisitions and strategic joint ventures in the industrial gas distribution segment. 


From 2009 to date, Okomboli has taken on operational investment roles in multiple sectors: initially basic materials and consumer-facing businesses for Trans-Century PLC, a Kenyan investment holding company, and subsequently agribusiness and commercial/industrial real estate at Norfund, Norway’s development finance institution. From 2014 to 2020, Okomboli was the Senior Fund Partner at a real estate private equity fund, Phatisa’s Pan African Housing Fund (PAHF), where he oversaw investment, construction, and property management activities in Kenya, Rwanda, and Zambia. PAHF supported 290 housing units and 100 fully-serviced plots spread across five greenfield developments.


Okomboli is an Eisenhower Fellow (Africa program, 2016) and a veteran (US Army Reserve). He studied undergraduate economics at Middlebury College and earned a master of business administration degree at the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University.
