The historic Nathaniel Carr affordable senior community has begun construction in Charlotte, North Carolina, thanks to LISC's Charlotte Housing Opportunity Investment Fund (CHOIF). The Paces Foundation and Soho Housing Partners entered into a strategic partnership together to support affordable housing developments and help housing authorities meet their portfolio revitalization goals.

Located in the Historic West Boulevard District in Charlotte, the community will feature 120 units and be 100% affordable, with income ranges from 30% to 80% AMI. This development will help reduce displacement in an area that's demonstrated an increased need for affordable senior living, allowing residents to remain close to their communities and families. With various amenities such as a community garden, walking paths, outdoor gazebo and an outdoor picnic area, the Nathanial Carr Senior Community is expected to be completed in January of 2024.
